Dirigo Corvairs - Maine's Corvair Club
Dirigo Corvairs serves as Maine's center for enthusiasts and owners of America's most unique automobile.

Dirigo Corvairs exists solely to help Corvair owners in Maine and around the world enjoy their cars and share their enthusiasm for America's only rear-engine, air cooled, sports sedan.

We benefit from the energy and effort of volunteers who organize events, offer technical advice and support, and keep each other informed about our entertaining automobiles. This group thrives on its spirit of cooperation and fun.

In June 2011 Dirigo Corvairs became the newest chapter of CORSA, The Corvair Society of America.

Celebration of the Corvair's 50th Anniversary
Thanks to the hospitality of Goodwin Chevrolet, Brunswick, ME, Dirigo Corvairs met on October 3. 2010 to celebrate the 50th anniversary weekend of the official launch of the Corvair.

Ron Tinkham had arranged for Goodwin Chevrolet to host our event, one of many nationwide and worldwide. By the time we all arrived, the rains had started in earnest and waves of squalls hit us throughout the day.

Nevertheless, a great group of enthusiasts and a very pleasant staff at Goodwin Chevrolet enjoyed this lineup:

Yenko Stinger
Lakewood 700
EM sedan
EM Monza coupe [2]
LM 140 convertible
LM customized convertible
LM coupes [2]

Ron and his sons erected a Corvair sales banner and we shared period advertisement with the sales staff. They feted us by firing up the grill, sharing good stories and keeping us dry. It was a wonderful opportunity to share our enthusiasm, meet new friends, enjoy conversation, get advice, and watch a new generation of Corvair enthusiasts play in the rain.
