The 2010 Maine Winter Romp took place between February 12 - 15, 2010. Over 75 Land Rovers and hundreds of enthusiasts filled the fields, woods, hills, streams and bogs of central Maine over the weekend.
Rompers came from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Maryland, Washington, DC, and New Jersey, as well as three Canadian provinces. And this year, the Winter Romp saw more families than ever; the youngest Rompers aged 6 months old and there were kids aplenty enjoying the snow and moderate temperatures.
Thanks to enthusiast Bruce Fowler, the Maine Winter Romp has succeeded for decades with its formula of few rules, a loose organization, pay-your-own-way, and "no whining." This year a special effort was made to raise funds for the Guy Patterson Scholarship Fund, whose supporters make it possible for Rompers to enjoy the hundreds of acres made available to us.
